about

With their new EP "All This Talk," Perth-based four-piece Anton Franc bring us the bigger, brighter, natural successor to their 2011 self-titled debut. Having relocated to Perth after a stint in the sprawling Kimberley region, they've toured Australia, supported the likes of Jens Lekman and Chet Faker and returned to their focus of crafting unforgettable songs laden with rich textures.

"All This Talk" introduces five new tracks that expand on the band's winning blend of folk storytelling, indie-pop momentum and electronic soundplay. Opener "Moments" pits existential turmoil against rollicking riffs and triumphant saxophone; "Dust Storm" is a cautionary tale wrapped in harmony and fog, mounting to a heavy crescendo. "Boat Song" and "Water & Blue" infuse nautical themes with sanguine rhythms, captivating choruses and weaving synths, before the stripped-back "Hearts" brings the record to a smouldering close. If you're a fan of Grizzly Bear's chamber-pop smarts, Boards Of Canada's synthetic tapestries or Lambchop's charming eccentricity, introducing your ears to "All This Talk" is a no-brainer.
